Hannah Bennett - Four Seats Hannah Bennett
"Four Seats" This was a private commission in which Hannah was asked to create a place where people could sit and regard the beautiful Provencal scenery. The surface colours reflect the soft tones found within this wonderful place.
Sculpture Crank 153-7070 was used to create these forms. Hannah works by hand wedging clay to remove air, and then gradually coiling clay to create these forms. Works are coloured with slip stained with raw oxides then fired to high stoneware temperatures causing the clay to vitrify, therefore becoming durable and frost proof. Small dimples within the surface allow nature in the form of Lichens and moss, to exist with the pieces and slowly alter surfaces.
