Isatu Hyde is a traditionally trained potter with an interest in ancient and indigenous ceramics and sculpture, and contemporary design. She uses a range of clays, glazes and finishing techniques to resolve different challenges, and is most concerned with the balance of well considered form and beauty alongside utility. Her work in micaceous clay is focused on food, creating cookware inspired by the clays’ Mexican roots and from other cookware traditions from around the world.
